The ultimate corporate event will be coming back to Rutland Water on 28 September 2019 with the option to complete either a half or full marathon distance!
The full marathon distance will see teams cycle 30km, walk or run 10km and canoe 2km (everyone’s favourite part!) whilst half marathon participants will cycle 10km, walk or run 10km and canoe 1km. There will also be mystery challenges and team-building events enroute bringing an added twist to the event.
The event aims to bring together friends and colleagues to complete an incredible challenge, using team-work to get through it together and doing it all for a fantastic cause!
As a team of 2 to 4 people, you’ll set your own pace – some will be sprinting the whole event, others will spend time enjoying the scenery – but whatever speed you complete it at, it’s guaranteed to be a fun-filled and satisfying day out for the whole team.
We have introduced a nominal registration fee this year to ensure that teams who sign up to the event are fully committed – it also gives your fundraising page an immediate boost, which is proven to increase the amount of donations received to online fundraising pages. We also hope that by having a registration fee, the company or organisation you represent will have greater interest & involvement in the event as a crucial team-building activity during 2019.
Registration costs £5 for half marathon participants and £10 for full marathon participants. This can either be paid at registration on the website, via bank transfer to TwentyTwenty, or if you would like to pay this as a team total or if your company is paying for you (woohoo!), just get in touch with TwentyTwenty at firstname.lastname@example.org and they can help you with any queries.
The recommended fundraising target is £150 per person, which includes the registration fee.
Your registration fee includes:
- Hire of equipment: bicycles, helmets & canoes
- Technical T-shirt
- Finishers medal
- Water & light refreshments throughout the day
- Evening meal and casual networking (on-site at Rutland Water)
- Digital download of event photographs by Chris Meads
You don’t need to be a triathlete to take part. Due to the generous time allowance, the event is suitable for various fitness levels and you can complete it at a pace that’s right for you. Also, the elevation of the walk and cycle route will be less hilly than the events’ predecessor at Carsington Water… sigh of relief from previous participants who remember those epic inclines!
You will need to be familiar with riding a bicycle and some practice of running or walking for several miles at a time will be extremely helpful on the day! Plan a training day with your team as an opportunity to test out your kit and fitness levels – it’ll also be a great opportunity to get in the spirit of the challenge & aid your fundraising!
Helping one disadvantaged and disengaged young person to develop the self-belief, qualifications and skills they need to find a job and reach their full potential costs £5,000. Your team’s fundraising efforts will directly help TwentyTwenty to change more young lives, build bright futures, break cycles of poverty and hopelessness across the East Midlands.
Prima Solutions will once again be completely funding this event so you can be sure that every penny that you raise (including your registration fee) will be going towards TwentyTwenty’s work with disadvantaged young people across the East Midlands. You can read more about their life changing work here.
If you’d like to find out more about the event, please get in touch with TwentyTwenty at email@example.com and they can help you plan your team-building event of the year!
