Trading since 1914, sportswear brand Admiral first began business by manufacturing underwear for the armed forces. As part of its progression plan and after being inspired by England’s 1966 World Cup success, Admiral famously went on to pioneer the use of personalised football kits, first worn by Leeds United in 1973. Setting the trend for fashion within sport, 1974 was another landmark year for the company when the honour of having the first logo to be positioned alongside the Three Lions of England on England’s football kit was given to Admiral.
In 2011, Admiral Sportswear Limited was established with three key focuses – football sports performance, retro inspired sports fashion and casual sports inspired fashion, providing substantial growth opportunities. Director of Operations Alan Hughes decided that a main priority was Admiral’s business systems, requiring a solution that suited the specific processes and functions of the sportswear sector as well as being scalable and catering for multiple channels.
